Abstract: The title compound, [Ir(C₈H₄F₃O₂S)(C₁₂H₁₀N)₂]·C₄H₈O₂, contains two cyclometallated 3-methyl-2-phenylpyridine ligands and one thenoyltrifluoroacetonate ligand. The central Ir^III atom has a distorted octahedral coordination geometry, with the C atoms being cis and the N atoms trans.
