cis-Bis(tricyanomethanido-N)[tris(2-aminoethyl)amine-⁴N]nickel(II)

Abstract: The crystal structure of the title complex, [Ni(C₄N₃)₂(C₆H₁₈N₄)], is made up of neutral mononuclear [Ni(tren){C(CN)₃}₂] units [tren = tris(2-aminoethyl)amine] which are linked through van der Waals interactions and N-HN hydrogen bonds. The Ni atom has a distorted octahedral coordination environment, bonded to the four tren N atoms [average Ni-N = 2.096 (17) Å] and the two cis-positioned C(CN)₃ N atoms [Ni-N = 2.045 (4) and 2.118 (4) Å].
