-chlorido]]Abstract: The structure of the title complex, {(C5H12NO)[NiCl3]}n, shows pseudo-octahedral geometry about the NiII ions with discrete N-methylmorpholinium cations. The cation has mirror symmetry; Ni and one Cl atom also lie on a mirror plane. The Ni atoms are linked via bridging Cl ions into a linear chain parallel to the a axis. The bridging Cl ions create a pseudo-octahedral geometry about each Ni atom with a Jahn-Teller compression. Bifurcated N-H
Cl hydrogen bonding occurs between the cations and anions.
