Abstract: In the title compound, [Cu(C7H3NO4)(C6H6N4)(H2O)]·H2O, the central CuII ion exhibits a distorted mer-CuN3O3 octahedral geometry arising from one water O atom, an N,N-bidentate 2,2'-biimidazole molecule and an N,O,O-tridentate pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylate dianion. The crystal packing is stabilized by O-H
O, N-H
O and C-H
O hydrogen bonds.
