Bis{methyl [1-(6-acetyl-2-pyridyl)ethylidene]hydrazinecarbodithioato}nickel(II)

Abstract: The title compound, [Ni(C₁₁H₁₂N₃OS₂)₂], is a six-coordinate Ni^II complex that is similar to other bis-tridentate N,N',S-coordinated Schiff bases, but in this case an acetyl substituent adjacent to the coordinated pyridyl N atom elongates the Ni-N bond by more than 0.06 Å relative to the complex where no substituent is present. A related 6-methyl-substituted Ni complex also shows a similar Ni-N bond elongation.
