3O,N,O'}(methanol-
O)(1,10-phenanthroline-
2N,N')cadmium(II)Abstract: The title compound, [Cd(C8H6BrNO4S)(C12H8N2)(CH4O)], incorporating a Schiff base formed by aminomethanesulfonic acid and 5-bromosalicylaldehyde, was synthesized in a water-methanol solution. In the structure, the CdII atom is six-coordinated by one O atom from a methanol molecule, two N atoms from a 1,10-phenanthroline ligand, and one N and two O atoms from the Schiff base in a distorted octahedral coordination geometry. A one-dimensional chain structure is formed via C-H
O hydrogen bonds.
