(2,2'-Bipyridine-²N,N')(3,5-dinitrosalicylato-²O¹,O²)(pyridine-N)copper(II)

Abstract: In the title compound, [Cu(C₇H₂N₂O₇)(C₅H₅N)(C₁₀H₈N₂)], the Cu^II atom is coordinated by two O atoms from a 3,5-dinitrosalicylate ligand, two N atoms from a 2,2'-bipyridine ligand and one N atom from a pyridine ligand in a square-pyramidal geometry. The structure is stabilized by C-HO hydrogen bonds and - interactions between the bipyridine ligands, with a centroid-centroid distance between neighbouring aromatic rings of 3.96 (8) Å.
