Abstract: In the title compound, [Zn(C₂₂H₁₈N₂O₂)(H₂O)]·CHCl₃, the Zn^II centre is in a five-coordinate square-pyramidal N₂O₃ environment, with the N₂O₂ set of atoms from the Schiff base ligand forming the basal plane; the water molecule occupies the apical position. Intermolecular O-HO hydrogen bonds and weak C-HO interactions link the molecules into a chain along [100]. The chains form sheets parallel to the ac plane.
