4O,N,N',O'}zinc(II) chloroform solvateAbstract: In the title compound, [Zn(C22H18N2O2)(H2O)]·CHCl3, the ZnII centre is in a five-coordinate square-pyramidal N2O3 environment, with the N2O2 set of atoms from the Schiff base ligand forming the basal plane; the water molecule occupies the apical position. Intermolecular O-H
O hydrogen bonds and weak C-H
O interactions link the molecules into a chain along [100]. The chains form sheets parallel to the ac plane.
