2N,N')copper(II) bis(tetrafluoridoborate)Abstract: In the title compound, [Cu(C10H8N2)2(H2O)](BF4)2, the CuII atom is coordinated by four N atoms and one O atom in a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry. The Cu-N bond lengths are in the range 1.982 (3)-2.124 (3) Å, while the Cu-O distance is 2.035 (4) Å. The structure is stabilized by O-H
F hydrogen bonds between the CuII complex and the tetrafluoridoborate anion. The F atoms of one anion are disordered over two positions; the site occupancy ratio is ca 3:2.
