Abstract: The molecule of the title compound, C15H14N2O4, is roughly planar, except for the methyl H atoms, and displays a trans configuration with respect to the C=N double bond. The dihedral angle between the two rings is 3.7 (2)°. The crystal structure is stabilized by intermolecular O-H
O and N-H
O hydrogen bonds.
