2-Phenyl-4H-thiazolo[3,2-a][1,3,5]triazine-4-thione

Abstract: The title compound, C₁₁H₇N₃S₂, was synthesized from benzoyl chloride, ammonium thiocyanate and 2-aminothiazole in dry acetone. The whole molecule is essentially planar. The structure was determined using data from a non-merohedrally twinned crystal with a refined twin fraction of 0.523 (1). The structure is stabilized by short intermolecular SS [3.491 (1) Å] and - stacking interactions, as well as weak C-HN and C-HS hydrogen bonds.
