Diaquabis(1,10-phenanthroline-²N,N')nickel(II) diperchlorate 0.4-hydrate

Abstract: The title complex, [Ni(C₁₂H₈N₂)₂(H₂O)₂](ClO₄)₂·0.4H₂O, possesses crystallographically imposed C₂ symmetry. The Ni^II atom is coordinated by four N atoms from two 1,10-phenanthroline ligands and two water molecules in a distorted octahedral coordination geometry. The packing is governed by intermolecular hydrogen bonds and a - stacking interaction with a centroid-to-centroid distance of 3.650 (2) Å.
