Abstract: The title compound, C6H13N4+·[B(C7H4O3)2]-, contains hexamethylenetetraminium cations and isolated disalicylatoborate anions. The coordination geometry around the B atom is tetrahedral and the dihedral angle between the planes of the benzene rings of the two salicylate ligands is 86.1 (1)°. In addition to electrostatic interactions between the cations and anions, N-H
O hydrogen bonds are formed between the NH group of the cation and the O atoms of one carboxylate group in the anion.
