Triphenyl-n-propylphosphonium bis(2-thioxo-1,3-dithiole-4,5-dithiolato)aurate(III)

Abstract: In the title complex, (C₂₁H₂₂P)[Au(C₃S₅)₂] or (Ph₃C₃H₇P)[Au(dmit)₂] (where Ph₃C₃H₇P is the triphenyl-n-propylphosphonium cation and dmit is the 2-thioxo-1,3-dithiole-4,5-dithiolate anion), the Au^III atom exhibits a square-planar coordination involving four S atoms from two dmit ligands. The [Au(dmit)₂]^- anions form discrete pairs with a long intermolecular AuS interaction for each Au atom in the crystal structure.
