Abstract: In the title compound, 2C6H16N+·C14H12N2O6S22-, the anion possesses a crystallographically imposed centre of symmetry. The stilbene group adopts an E configuration, and the two benzene rings are each twisted from its mean plane by 16.05 (10)°. The crystal packing exhibits N-H
O hydrogen bonds, which link the anions into two-dimensional layers parallel to the plane formed by the b+c and a vectors, with protruding (up and down) triethylammonium cations.
