cis-(Cyclobutane-1,1-dicarboxylato)bis(2-methylpyridine)platinum(II)

Abstract: The asymmetric unit in the title compound, [Pt(C₆H₆O₄)(C₆H₇N)₂], is composed of one-half of a molecule. The complex lies on a mirror plane which contains the Pt atom and three C atoms of the cyclobutane group, the fourth C atom being disordered with respect to the mirror plane. The Pt^II ion is tetracoordinated in a square-planar environment.
