Abstract: In the crystal structure of the title compound, (C6H8N)[ZnCl4]·H2O, the Zn atom has a tetrahedral geometry and is coordinated by four Cl atoms. The water molecule and phenylammonium cations interact with two [ZnCl4]2- anions, forming discrete structural motifs via O-H
Cl and N-H
Cl/O interactions. Intermolecular
-
stacking is present between adjacent phenylammonium cations (centroid-centroid distance = 3.672 Å).
