Abstract: The title compound, [Zn(C₂O₄)(C₅H₅N)₂]_n, was synthesized by the oxidation of pentaerythritol under solvothermal conditions. The backbone of the compound is formed from Zn^II oxalate, with two pyridine ligands coordinated to each Zn^II ion, giving it hexacoordination in a slightly distorted octahedral environment.
