Tetra--acetato-⁸O:O'-bis[(4-vinylpyridine-N)copper(II)](Cu-Cu)

Abstract: The title compound, [Cu₂(C₂H₃O₂)₄(C₇H₇N)₂], consists of centrosymmetric dinuclear units, in which four acetate groups bridge the two Cu atoms and a 4-vinylpyridine neutral ligand occupies the axial position of each Cu atom, coordinated to it through the pyridine N atom. Each Cu atom has a distorted octahedral coordination. Weak C-HO interactions contribute to the crystal packing stability.
