Abstract: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, (C12H28N2O4)[PtCl6]·2H2O, contains one half-cation, one half-anion and one water molecule, both ions lying on inversion centres. The Pt ion has an octahedral coordination. In the crystal structure, intermolecular O-H...Cl, N-H...O and O-H...O hydrogen bonds result in the formation of a supramolecular structure.
