C)(ethane-1,2-diamine-
2N,N')silver(II)Abstract: The title compound, [Ag(CN)2(C2H8N2)], was obtained from the reaction of ethane-1,2-diamine (en) with K[Ag(CN)2]. The compound crystallizes as an inversion twin, the ratio of the twin components being 0.72 (4):0.28 (4). The AgII atom is in a slightly disorted square-planar environment. The chelate ring has an envelope conformation. The AgII-N(en) bond lengths are 2.071 (2) and 2.078 (2) Å. In the crystal structure, symmetry-related molecules are linked by N-H
N hydrogen bonds to form a three-dimensional network.
