A new polymorph of 2'-(4-methoxybenzylidene)isonicotinohydrazide monohydrate

Abstract: The title compound, C₁₄H₁₃N₃O₂·H₂O, is a new orthorhombic polymorph of a structure reported previously [Jing, Fan, Yu, Chen & Deng (2005). Acta Cryst. E61, o3208-o3209]. The crystal structure is stabilized by a network of N-HO and O-HN hydrogen bonds linking three molecules to each water molecule, forming layers in the bc plane.
