Abstract: Hydroflumethiazide forms a 1:2 solvate with dimethyl sulfoxide [systematic name: 3,4-dihydro-6-(trifluoromethyl)-2H-1,2,4-benzothiadiazine-7-sulfonamide 1,1-dioxide dimethyl sulfoxide disolvate], C8H8F3N3O4S2·2C2H6OS. The compound crystallizes with two molecules of solvent and one molecule of hydroflumethiazide in the asymmetric unit and displays an extensive network of hydrogen bonds. One solvent molecule is disordered over two positions, with site occupancy factors 0.57 (1) and 0.43 (1).
