2-{N'-[3-(Dimethylammonio)propyl]oxamido}benzoate

Abstract: The title compound, C₁₄H₁₉N₃O₄, exists as a zwitterion, with a tertiary N atom protonated and a carboxyl group deprotonated. In the crystal structure, the planar oxamide group displays a transoid conformation. The molecules link to each other via hydrogen bonding, resulting in an extended supramolecular chain along the b axis.
