Abstract: In the title monomeric compound, [Co(N₃)₂(C₁₀H₈N₂)₂]ClO₄, the Co^III ion has a distorted octahedral coordination geometry formed by four N atoms from two chelating bipyridine ligands and two N atoms from azide groups, with the two azide groups in cis positions. The crystal structure is stabilized by weak C-HO and C-HN hydrogen bonding.
