3C,N,O}palladium(II) sesquihydrateAbstract: In the title compound, [Pd(C9H17N2O3S)Cl]·1.5H2O, the Pd atom is tetracoordinated by a naphthyl C, a diazene N, a Cl and a sulfonyl O atom in an approximate square-planar geometry; the asymmetric unit also contains 1.5 molecules of water, one molecule lying on a twofold rotation axis. A hydrophilic environment wrapping the polar portion of the compound is created by an array of water molecules. The crystal packing is stabilized by an intermolecular C-H
O interaction and eight intermolecular
-
interactions; the centroid-centroid distances range from 3.647 (2)-3.8098 (18) Å, with perpendicular interplanar distances between 3.169 and 3.590 Å.
