2-(5-carboxylato-m-phenylenedioxy)diacetato]trizinc(II) dihydrateAbstract: In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Zn3(C11H7O8)2(H2O)10]·2H2O, the trianionic carboxylate unit uses one oxyacetate -OCH2CO2- arm to chelate a Zn atom through the ether and carboxylate O atoms. The other oxyacetate arm is free; the -CO2- end has a formal negative charge. The central Zn atom lies on a special position of site symmetry
. The uncoordinated water molecules form a three-dimensional hydrogen-bonded network. One solvent water molecule is disordered over two positions in a 2:1 ratio.
