4-benzene-1,4-dicarboxylato)-6-succinato-dilanthanum(III)]Abstract: The title compound, [La2(C4H4O4)(C8H4O4)2]n, was synthesized by hydrothermal methods. The La atom is coordinated by four O atoms from four benzene-1,4-dicarboxylate (BDC) ligands and four O atoms from three succinate anions, in a distorted square antiprismatic coordination geometry. The antiprisms are bridged by the benzene-1,4-dicarboxylate and succinate ligands, forming a three-dimensional network. The succinate ion is located on a centre of inversion.
