Aquachlorido[4,4'-dimethyl-N,N'-(o-phenylene)bis(pyridine-2-carboxamidato)]manganese(III) dimethylformamide solvate

Abstract: In the title compound, [Mn(C₂₀H₁₆N₄O₂)Cl(H₂O)]·C₃H₇NO, or [Mn(bmpb)Cl(H₂O)]·DMF [H₂bmpb = 1,2-bis(4'-methylpyridine-2'-carboxamido)benzene and DMF is dimethylformamide], the Mn^III ion is six-coordinate in the form of a distorted octahedron with two pyridine and two deprotonated amide N atoms in the equatorial plane, while the two axial sites are occupied by a chloride ion and an O atom. The structure displays O-HO hydrogen bonds.
