Tris(2,2'-bi-1H-imidazole)cadmium(II) carbonate

Abstract: The title compound, [Cd(C₆H₆N₄)₃]CO₃, is composed of discrete cations and anions, which are each located on a twofold rotation axis. The central Cd^II ion exhibits a distorted octahedral geometry and is coordinated by six N atoms from three 2,2'-biimidazole molecules. The crystal packing is stabilized by N-HO hydrogen bonds.
