Di--aqua-bis[(2-amino-4,5-dimethylbenzenesulfonato-N)aquasilver(I)]

Abstract: In the title compound, [Ag₂(C₈H₁₀NO₃S)₂(H₂O)₄], each Ag^I atom is coordinated by three water molecules and one N atom from a 2-amino-4,5-dimethylbenzenesulfonate ligand in a severely distorted tetrahedral geometry. The two Ag^I atoms are bridged by two water molecules, forming a centrosymmetric binuclear complex. The distance of 3.615 (9) Å between the two Ag^I atoms suggests that there are no AgAg interaction within the binuclear molecule.
