Abstract: In the title compound, [Co(C₁₆H₈O₈)(C₁₀H₈N₂)₂]_n, the Co^II atom exhibits a distorted octahedral geometry defined by four O atoms from three 4,4'-dicarboxybiphenyl-3,3'-dicarboxylate ligands and two N atoms from two 4,4'-bipyridine ligands. In the crystal structure, one-dimensional molecular chains are connected by O-HN hydrogen bonds, forming a two-dimensional supramolecular network.
