Bis(7-amino-2,4-dimethyl-1,8-naphthyridine)dichloridonickel(II) methanol solvate

Abstract: In the title compound, [NiCl₂(C₁₀H₁₁N₃)₂]·CH₄O, the Ni^II ion lies on a crystallographic twofold axis and is coordinated in a distorted octahedral geometry by four N atoms from two bidentate naphthyridine ligands and two chlorine atoms. The unique methanol solvent molecule has half occupancy. In the crystal structure, intermolecular N-HCl and O-HCl hydrogen bonds connect molecules into one-dimensional chains which propagate along the c-axis direction.
