Low-temperature redetermination of trans-tetrabromidobis(dimethyl sulfide-S)platinum(IV)

Abstract: The octahedral molecule of the title compound, [PtBr₄(C₂H₆S)₂], lies on an inversion centre [Pt-Br = 2.4654 (4) and 2.4761 (4) Å; Pt-S = 2.3624 (9) Å]. A similar set of bond distances is predicted by density functional theory.
