-iodido-bis[iodidocuprate(II)]Abstract: The title compound, (C17H21N2)2[Cu2I4], consists of an organic cation, 4-[4-(dimethylamino)stryl]-1-ethylpyrdinium, and an inorganic anion, [Cu2I4]2-. The Cu(I) atom exhibits a trigonal coordination. The anions form discrete centrosymmetric dimers about inversion centers and are surrounded by the cations.
