Bis(2,2'-bipyridyl-²N,N')(carbonato-²O,O')cobalt(III) bromide trihydrate

Abstract: The title complex, [Co(CO₃)(C₁₀H₈N₂)₂]Br·3H₂O, is isostructural with the chloride analogue. The six-coordinated octahedral [Co(2,2'-bipy)₂CO₃]⁺ cation (2,2'-bipy is 2,2'-bipyridyl), bromide ion and water molecules are linked together via O-HBr and O-HO hydrogen bonds, generating a one-dimensional chain.
