Chlorido(1,10-phenanthroline)[1,1,1-trifluoro-3-(2-thenoyl)acetonato]copper(II)

Abstract: In the title compound, [Cu(C₈H₄F₃O₂S)Cl(C₁₂H₈N₂)], the Cu^II ion exhibits a distorted square-pyramidal geometry. The coordination environment of the cation comprises two N atoms from 1,10-phenanthroline and two O atoms from thenoyltrifluoroacetone in the basal plane and one Cl^- anion at the apical site. There are weak intermolecular C-HCl bonds.
