Diaquabis(4-methylbenzoato-²O,O')cadmium(II)

Abstract: In the title mononuclear complex, [Cd(C₈H₇O₂)₂(H₂O)₂], the Cd^II atom possesses crystallographically imposed C₂ site symmetry, and is coordinated by four O atoms from two 4-methylbenzoate ligands and two water molecules, displaying a distorted octahedral geometry. The molecules are assembled via intermolecular O-HO hydrogen-bond interactions into a supramolecular architecture.
