Aquabis(o-vanillinato-²O,O')nickel(II)

Abstract: The Ni^II atom in the title complex, aquabis(2-formyl-6-methoxyphenolato-²O,O')nickel(II), [Ni(C₈H₇O₃)₂(H₂O)], is five-coordinated by four O atoms from two o-vanillinate ligands and one water molecule in a slightly distorted square-pyramidal geometry ( = 0.06). In the crystal structure, the molecules are linked into dimers by intermolecular O-HO hydrogen bonds.
