Bis[[mu]-1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)methane-[kappa]2P:P']bis[([eta]2-ethene)nickel(0)] toluene disolvate

J. Langer, R. Fischer, H. Görls and D. Walther

Abstract: In the title compound, [Ni2(C2H4)2(C25H22P2)2]·2C7H8, each Ni atom is coordinated in a trigonal-planar geometry by two P atoms of the bridging 1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)methane (dppm) ligands and by the centroid of the double bond of an ethene ligand. An eight-membered ring comprising the two Ni atoms, four P atoms and the CH2 groups of the two dppm ligands is thus formed. The methyl group in one of the solvent toluene molecules is disordered over two positions with equal occupancies.
