Poly[[tetraaquabis(1H-imidazole-N³)bis[2-(oxaloamino)benzoato(3-)]dicopper(II)barium(II)] dihydrate]

Abstract: In the title coordination polymer, {[BaCu₂(C₉H₄NO₅)₂(C₃H₄N₂)₂(H₂O)₄]·2H₂O}_n, the Ba²⁺ cation is decacoordinate, ligated by four aqua ligands and four [Cu(C₉H₄O₅N)(C₃H₄N₂)] `complex ligands'. The Cu^II-containing complex-ligands are bridged by the Ba²⁺ cations, resulting in a one-dimensional polymeric chain structure. The crystal structure is maintained via N-HO and O-HO hydrogen bonds. There is one disordered solvent water molecule in the asymmetric unit, with occupancies of 0.44 (2) and 0.56 (2).
