Poly[[tetraaquabis(1H-imidazole-[kappa]N3)bis[2-(oxaloamino)benzoato(3-)]dicopper(II)barium(II)] dihydrate]

Abstract: In the title coordination polymer, {[BaCu2(C9H4NO5)2(C3H4N2)2(H2O)4]·2H2O}n, the Ba2+ cation is decacoordinate, ligated by four aqua ligands and four [Cu(C9H4O5N)(C3H4N2)] `complex ligands'. The CuII-containing complex-ligands are bridged by the Ba2+ cations, resulting in a one-dimensional polymeric chain structure. The crystal structure is maintained via N-H...O and O-H...O hydrogen bonds. There is one disordered solvent water molecule in the asymmetric unit, with occupancies of 0.44 (2) and 0.56 (2).
