1,4-Bis(benzyloxy)-2-tert-butylbenzene

Abstract: The title compound, C₂₄H₂₆O₂, was obtained unintentionally as the product of an attempted synthesis of a new chiral cobalt salen catalyst. There are no classical hydrogen bonds; intermolecular C-H stacking interactions between aromatic rings help to establish the molecular conformation.
