Abstract: In the title compound, [Zn(C₄H₄O₄)(C₅H₅N)₂(H₂O)₂]_n, the Zn^II ion (site symmetry $\overline{1}$ ) is coordinated in an octahedral geometry by two pyridine molecules, two water molecules and two bridging centrosymmetric O-monodentate succinate dianions to create one-dimensional polymeric chains. The chains are cross-linked by O-HO hydrogen bonds, forming sheets.
