2-(2-Hydroxyethyl)phthalazin-1(2H)-one

Abstract: In the molecule of the title compound, C₁₀H₁₀N₂O₂, the rings are nearly coplanar, making a dihedral angle of 2.35 (5)°. In the crystal structure, intermolecular C-HO, C-HN and O-HO hydrogen bonds link the molecules, generating R₄⁴(22) and R₄⁴(24) ring motifs to form a three-dimensional network. A weak - interaction between the pyridazinone and benzene rings further stabilizes the crystal structure, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.709 (3) Å and an interplanar separation of 3.312 Å.
