Cover illustration: This tricyclododecanol crystallizes in space group P21/c with homochiral chains of molecules along b, held together by O-HO hydrogen bonds. Adjacent chains along a are of the same chirality, leading to chirally pure layers in the crystal structure. The layer is generated by a combination of the 21 screw axis along b and translation along the short a axis, neither of which generates a change in chirality.
