Abstract: In the mononuclear title compound, [Cd(C₁₂H₉O₂)₂(C₃H₄N₂)₂], the Cd^II centre has a distorted octahedral coordination geometry defined by four O atoms from two naphthaleneacetate ligands and two N atoms from two imidazole ligands. The molecules are linked by N-HO hydrogen bonds, forming a layer network.
