Ammonium 1-hydroxy-2-naphthoate

Abstract: The title compound, NH₄⁺·C₁₁H₇O₃^-, was obtained by slow evaporation of a 30% ammonia solution of 1-hydroxy-2-naphthoic acid. The crystal structure is stabilized by intermolecular N-HO hydrogen bonds, forming layers parallel to the bc plane.
