(S)-Ethyl 1,2,3,9-tetrahydropyrrolo[2,1-b]quinazoline-1-carboxylate

Abstract: The title chiral compound, C₁₄H₁₆N₂O₂, was prepared by esterification of (S)-1,2,3,9-tetrahydropyrrolo[2,1-b]quinazolin-1-carboxylic acid in the presence of HCl/EtOH. In the molecule, the quinazoline ring is non-planar and exhibits a distorted half-chair conformation, while the five-membered ring shows a typical envelope conformation. Intermolecular C-HN hydrogen bonding helps to stabilize the crystal structure.
