(5,5'-Dicarboxybiphenyl-2,2'-dicarboxylato-²O²,O^2')bis(1,10-phenanthroline-²N,N')cobalt(II) dihydrate

Abstract: In the title compound, [Co(C₁₆H₈O₈)(C₁₂H₈N₂)₂]·2H₂O, the Co atom located on a twofold rotation axis. It is six-coordinated by two O atoms from one 5,5'-dicarboxybiphenyl-2,2'-dicarboxylate anion and four N atoms from two 1,10-phenanthroline molecules in a distorted octahedral environment. The crystal packing is stabilized by O-HO hydrogen bonds.
