Abstract: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, (C8H11N2S)2[ZnCl4], contains two S-benzylisothiouronium cations which differ in the C-C-S-C torsion angle [165.3 (2) and 81.9 (2)°] and a tetrahedral tetrachloridozincate anion. The crystal structure is stabilized by N-H...Cl, C-H...Cl and C-H...S interactions.
